The course begins just inside the McClure Avenue entrance to Glen Oak Park,
on the outer loop road. It covers a little less than a mile in the park and
adjacent neighborhood before heading off to Springdale Cemetery. The route out
through the cemetery will cover a little over 2 and half miles winding through
the southern end and the upper east sections before heading across to the
northern end exit. Once out of the cemetery the course rolls and winds its way
approximately a mile and a half over to Grandview Drive. The climb up Grandview
Drive will cover approximately a mile and a half to the turnaround.
The return trip from the turnaround at the top of Grandview Drive will differ
slightly in three areas. First, before heading back down Grandview Drive the
course takes a detour onto Grandview Terrace. Once back onto Grandview Drive
the course is the same going back as it was on its way out until you reach
Springdale Cemetery. Second difference; once in the cemetery the course is more
of a direct route through, not covering as much ground as on the way out. After
leaving the cemetery, the third difference in the return trip is that it is a
straight shot down Prospect Road to the McClure Avenue entrance to Glen Oak Park
and in to the finish.
